Rose is bringing her boyfriend, Chris, home to meet her family and participate in a family celebration but Rose hasn't told her family that the boyfriend is African-American.
By coincidence this set up is very similar to the Australian play 'Black is the New White' which I posted about only a few weeks ago. Whereas that play is a drama/comedy about entitlement and privilege the movie 'Get Out' is a horror fable about what Blacks secretly fear about Whites.
A horror movies go, this is one of the better examples I have seen in a long time.

It sounds interesting and it does need a horror slant to make it different to the many interracial introducing a black fiance to prospective parent in law's movies that have gone before it.
