Vietnam Day 11 - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong

A new day, another Temple.

This one on the road to the Mekong River Delta.

Temple decoration
Following the brief Temple visit we continued on to the Delta visit.

Mekong River tenders
We boarded our tender and commenced the river journey to join our cruise vessel. Along the way we stopped at a craft and food store where we were invited to sample the local wares including this alcoholic drink.

I didn't touch it!
Approaching our 'hotel' for overnight and tomorrow. (By the way it is a converted fishing trawler.)

The Cochinchine
Our Captain
Cruising the Mekong
In the late afternoon we anchored for a few hours and were taken ashore to wander through a nearby village and its surrounding rice paddies.

Family farming
We came across this man who speaks English. He was an interpreter for the US forces during the Vietnam War who decided he would rather remain in Vietnam than be resettled in the USA.

As the sun was setting we returned to the Cochninchine for the evening. Dinner, singalong, foot massages and other fun activities during the night.
