Sunday scenes

Some scenes today in and around Sydney's Hyde Park South.

Hyde Park South @ Elizabeth and Bathurst Streets
War Memorial in Hyde Park South
Three high rises in Liverpool Street overlooking Hyde Park South
I wonder how those high rises compare with Andrew's Melbourne high rise?

For sale by auction
The sign reads '2 rough diamonds ripe and ready for reno' (ie renovation). Realtor alliteration! Inner city residence or office or restaurant; or all three?
Terrace houses
Coloured terrace houses

  1. Much taller than our 22 storey block.

I would have said of the rough diamonds, ripe and ready for ravaging. My mental thesaurus is not that good, is it.

The terrace houses in the last photo are new? The coloured glass or plastic in the roof looks 'interesting'.

    1. Andrew, the houses in the last photo were constructed less than 10 years ago, I believe. They contain an interesting feature in the roof - not visible from the street - which appears to be a gap creating an internal balcony with direct sunlight pouring through. It is not evident in my photo but several of the houses were brilliantly bright through those upper windows where the blinds had been left open.
